Ballet “Kaleidoskop”, World Premiere at Opernhaus Düsseldorf, Saturday, March 15, 2025, 7.30 p.m [ From category News ] [ Article date: 2025-02-23 ] [ From city Dusseldorf ] [ Country Germania ]   The next evening of ballet under the direction of Bridget Breiner and Raphaël Coumes-Marquet demonstrates an astonishing interaction of forms and formations. In “Kaleidoskop”, they bring together three very different choreographic styles to create a fascinating program that premieres on March 15 at 7.30 p.m. at Opernhaus Düsseldorf. The program begins with duo Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich presenting their world premiere “Moto Perpetuo.” Inspired by the symmetries and circular movements of the music of Philip Glass, they examine the continuous movement and transience of time. “Invocation” is the name given by Mthuthuzeli November to his new piece. The South African choreographer`s creation was inspired by the sounds, melodies and rhythms of his father`s homeland in the Eastern Cape. “Invocation” displays strong autobiographical traits as it draws upon the inner workings of a person, a form, a state, and creates echoes in music and movement. “Vers un Pays Sage” (1995) by French choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot conveys the atmosphere of a watercolor painting in shades of red, green and yellow under the warm sun of southern France. Driven by the racing music of John Adam` “Fearful Symmetries”, this high-energy dialog between pointe work and expressive modernism pays homage to Maillot`s father, the painter Jean Maillot.
