We are excited to announce the lineup for the 2025–26 season—a dazzling operatic array that features everything from love potions, sleepwalking, icons of Mexican painting, execution by guillotine, an unhinged Puritan, and even a comic-book superhero! The season kicks off on September 21 with the company premiere of Mason Bates’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay, based on Michael Chabon’s Pulitzer Prize–winning novel and with a score that incorporates big band, Jewish folk melodies, and electronica into the full forces of the Met Orchestra. It’s the first of six new productions, including a pair of bel canto showpieces by Vincenzo Bellini, back-to-back company premieres of riveting contemporary works, and a revelatory take on Wagner’s epic Tristan und Isolde by renowned director Yuval Sharon—with incomparable soprano Lise Davidsen singing the opera’s heroine for her first time at the Met. A dozen extraordinary revivals round out the season, from such familiar favorites as Puccini’s Turandot and Verdi’s La Traviata to rarer masterpieces like Strauss’s Arabella and Giordano’s Andrea Chénier.
