Johan Kobborg designated as new Ballet Director of the National Opera in Bucharest

After the fantastic Premiere of "La Sylphide" one of the oldest and most important ballets in the world, Johan Kobborg was designated as the new Ballet Director of the National Opera in Bucharest. "La Sylphide" was Choreographed by Johan Kobborg and staged for the first time in Romania at National Opera.

This event is bringing to the public in Romania ballet world famous names. Johan Kobborg, internationally renowned soloists and Choreograph, principal Dancer Alina Cojocaru and Steven McRae. Johan Kobborg was first soloist with the Royal Danish Ballet, the Royal Ballet in London and is a guest of the most important companies in the world. In recent years, Johan Kobborg noted in parallel and as a choreographer, his works were presented by the London Royal Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet Theatre in Moscow Ballet Royal New Zealand and more. In 2009, his performance at the Bolshoi Theatre La Sylphide was awarded with the " Golden Mask " in Moscow for best show of the year.
